Together, Let's 'Drum + Be' Rain New Moon Sacred Drum Circle, Gabriola...
Thank you all for joining us last Sunday evening! - below, a few photos + a short video...
People gathered on New Moon (in Leo), July 23rd from all over... Kamloops, Vernon, Salmon Arm, Vancouver, Ladner, Nanaimo, Courtney, Parksville + Gabriola and more in response to the current wild fires raging all over our province...
New Moon was a power-full one... those of us on beautiful Gabriola gathered at Orlebar Point... Upon arrival, we noticed that the tide was quickly coming in and the high, blustery winds continuing as they had all day... So we we guided to gather under a sacred black rock... We opened sacred space, acknowledged + honoured the First Nation of the Snuneymuxw + ancestral lands of unceded territory of the Coast Salish... We drummed rain and offered an apology of prayers to all the waters of the world through a flower despacho... then, offered those prayers to the Salish Sea - letting them go where needed to go... It was so wonderful that dear friend Gary (of WindFlower Flutes) came and played his beautiful flute as we drummed + chanted together... it was perfect to hear the wind-song of the flute, drums + rattles in concert with the winds + ocean spray waves right at our feet = what a blessing!
The next morning i received this lovely note from my friend Ariel, in Vancouver, who had joined us remotely at the same time... I feel her words really summed up how we were all divinely guided together...
"I was thinking about the wind. The wind fans the fire inland but here on the coast it whips up the waves, making mist and spray, lifting it into the clouds. We can hope that the wind and warmth carried the clouds over the mountains to release the rain where it is sorely needed. I sat on the seashore in West Van watching the crashing waves and sent my wish into them."
We all feel blessed to have been a part and we happy we raised $50 for Cat's Alive Gabriola... :o) - thank you everyone and thank you Angela for sharing some your wonderful photos and video you captured!... x (((o)))

As we know... there is power in numbers....
let us gather together to create sacred space to 'Drum + Be Rain'...
During New Moon, Sunday evening
July 23, 2017 @ 6pm
@ Orlebar Point, Gabriola Island, BC, guided by weaver
- by reciprocal donation - a portion will be donated to Cats Alive Gabriola
- please car-pool or ride your bike, if possible...
In response to the wild fires raging all over our beautiful province... we can choose to offer sacred intention...
At 5:45pm, we will meet at Orlebar Point on Gabriola Island to prepare our space at the water's edge, off Berry Point Road, to the left side... we'll meet down on the flat rocks - look for us, we'll be holding + playing drums - here's a map to find us >>
We will open sacred space promptly at 6pm - please come a little early to gather in circle...
We will gather 'as one' to 'drum + be' rain to help nourish our parched sweet mother and all her dear beings ...and, with our humble intention during this New Moon, we will mindfully clear the smoke and raging fires from within our hearts and minds, including pray healing with all who have been affected by the devastating wild-fires... We will also 'journey' to rain/water to offer our deep apology and gratitude with offering a flower water despacho-gift to our sweet Mother Ocean... for, we know we wouldn't be here without water...
What to bring...
Note: We are not praying 'for'... there is a difference... we are choosing to 'drum and be rain'. Please see this post that shares a teaching from Gregg Braden on how he learned how to 'pray + be rain' from his Native American friend.
We look forward to being in sacred circle together soon...
This is a smoke/drug/alcohol-free, impromptu community event - open to all - please respect the community in and around Orlebar Point... and please, leave no trace... :o)

What to bring...
- your beautiful selves - please share this event to gather as many to make the circle grow...
- a blanket to sit on... some water to drink, if you wish...
- your drums, rattles, rain-sticks, sticks, stones, your strong voices + your mesa/bundle/mala if you have one...
(you don't have to have or play a drum or rattle, etc., to join us) - a small bowl, cup or container to hold a small amount of ocean water...
- a small stone to co-create our circle altar of intention...
- multi-coloured wild flowers to offer as a gratitude water despacho 'gift' to the sacred waters of Mother Ocean... please bring some extra if you can, to share with others... please do not bring flowers that are evasive or endangered, thank you... (and, please do not spend money on flowers - there are many in abundance in our yards and along the side of our roads)...
- a reciprocal donation - a portion will be donated to Cat's Alive Gabriola...

how to connect and be a part with us remotely...

For those who cannot be with us physically at Orlebar Point on beautiful Gabriola ..... We welcome you to align at the same time at 6pm this Sunday eve, July 23rd, 2017 - to be with us in spirit wherever you are... below, is a suggested way to align with us - or create your own ceremony to join us...
...Where you are, intentionally create and open sacred space, cleanse/smudge yourself - become clear... acknowledge and give thanks to the ancestors of the land/un-ceded territory on which you stand.... with a small bowl of water, with your breath, offer your apology to the sacred waters for our disrespect of all waters.... go within, be still and listen deeply for a message from the spirit of the waters...
...Then, connect in with... and, pray by "be-ing" rain with all your feeling + emotion (resonance) as if it were raining in the present moment while we gather as one... using ALL of your senses, somatically... smell it... taste it... feel it... celebrate it... hear it... dream it... sing/chant it... drum it... dance it... 'BE it'!!! ... Offer your gratitude and joy for all the waters of the world... as you know when we engage and work with nourishing water - even with one drop... we know that 'water knows all water' ...and will inform all waters all over our beautiful mother..... thank you Starhawk) ... Spend some time with this... when you feel complete... honour and close sacred space... leave no trace...
...If you are outdoors near a natural water source, consider offering a water despacho gift to the waters. during your ceremony... blow, into with your sacred breath of spirit/intention into and through beautiful flowers who have agreed to be a part... and then, gently place them in the water - to let them go where they need to go, with no attachment to the outcome...
...Continue to allow water to inform and teach you to move you to action, to stand up for water wherever you are - in your community... share with others... be an example... join together to educate others on how to return to balance (in Ayni) with our blessed earth mother and all her beings.......
big hugs with much love and light... weaver x (((o)))
