my graphic design + illustration portfolio...
I have been a graphics, t-shirt designer and illustrator since the days of letraset and a plug-in waxer to lay it all out. It was later i began creating websites for my friends. (more below)...
I was also co-owner + creative of ‘women's work screen print + design studio’ in North Vancouver for eight years during the late 80s. During that time i designed and created 100s of original t-shirt designs, graphics, logos, layouts and illustrations. I'm proud that i worked with many individuals; the Province of BC, Amnesty International, AIDs groups, non-profits, small businesses, unions and trade-unions across Canada.
In addition to my watercolour practice, (more to come)… know that i am open to discussing your project—let's chat + Contact me anytime. Below are just a few samples of my graphic + illustration work over the many years and some web design below. brightest blessings, weaver x (((o)))

my website projects + web design portfolio...
When i worked as marketing + member relations officer at CCEC Credit Union in Vancouver, BC, i learned some html and developed their first website and later re-designed the site a second time—during the eight years i was on staff with them. I was then inspired to create and design my own website (a few times over) which has now become the site you are visiting now. (which is in the throes of changing again)… Some of my friends then started asking me to help them with creating a web design for them. I'm here to help if you're not sure where to start...
I feel it's important that you have full control of your own website or blog... and that it also be user-friendly so you can be able to update your own website when you want to. You certainly don't want to spend loads of time learning how to figure out the tech stuff - you just want to get a website up and running that will be found on google... (i'll admit i have a fascination with keywords + website SEO = how to get found on the world wide web... Also, know a website doesn't have to cost you hoards of money either. I'm here to help you get you started and, then you can take it over from there... Contact me to discuss what you're envisioning and we'll go from there...
Below, are just a few of the websites that i have created over the years. Also, see some testimonials + feedback below...
Also, you can create your own site or blog with having a free account with weebly - a powerful and simple online website/blog builder to try out... and then, when your're happy with what you've created, i then suggest you upgrade to make it professional (no weebly ads, etc) and your own site you can control when you want...
with much appreciation... weaver x (((o)))

video montage projects...
With my past work in the grass-roots Theatre world, i was hired to create videos to help promote shows and more. During my time working with Theatre In the Raw Society in Vancouver, it was fun to work with some historical vintage CBC footage, newspaper clippings + graphics for the show, "Yippies In Love". From time to time now, i still love to capture life on video...
I also have worked on taking photographs for various arts + non-profit events.
—below, i hope you enjoy some of my past video montage projects... x (((o)))

"Since weaver created my website for me, I have had many many compliments on how it looks and how easy it is to navigate. Once I had the content together and a selection of photos for her to choose from, I left it all in her capable hands. My website is about me and it obviously represents who and what I am. There is complete congruence between who I am and what I want to convey. That takes more than just a web designer. Weaver digs into the soul of who you are and creates from an extraordinary depth of vision. If you want a website that truly represents you, you can't go wrong collaborating with her."

"As an artist returning to the market after years away, I needed a professional, eye-catching web design. I received a referral for carol weaver creative from an associate and decided that I would approach her to build the site for me. This was my first website so weaver not only had to build it, she had to teach me everything about it.
Weaver spent considerable time assessing my needs and preferences, and built a website that reflects my personal style. After she built it, she taught me how to add, change and maintain the site. Weaver taught me the importance of blogging and using key words, concepts that were quite unfamiliar to me before.
Weaver was patient and encouraging. She was enthusiastic about my work and gave me constructive suggestions about marketing it. She also helped me set up PayPal and to register my domain name. Weaver made the experience enjoyable and gave me the confidence to manage my site on my own.
I am delighted with my website and how easy it is to maintain. I felt that I got excellent value and know that I can request assistance any time. I recommend carol weaver creative for anyone wanting a professional and unique website. Check mine out at meganstmichael.com."
-- Megan St. Michael, artist, Kamloops, BC
Carol Weaver was the best help I have ever had trying to put together a web design and website that works for me. Her instructions were clear and easy to follow. Her vast knowledge of the field saved me big bucks. Her excellent sense of humor made a painful process really enjoyable. I love my website and I am finally getting a lot of hits.
-- Margaret Mann, Author + Counsellor, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
"Carol is both professional and creative, a terrific combination. She took the time to get to know our organization before building a presence (logo identity and website) which properly reflects our work, and is intuitive for our constituents to navigate. Carol is very accessible and works collaboratively. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her work."
-- Diane E. Friedman, President
Hebrew Free Loan Association (HFLA), Vancouver, BC
"The ad (for the Vancouver Folk Festival Program) looks great - thanks! I can't tell you how relieved I am to see an ad that looks like our PR materials. Thanks for being sensitive to that carol!"
-- Judy Werle, Manager of Singer-Songwriter Cris Williamson
"We are so delighted that we finally got professional help with our website! When we tinkered around with it, however much we fiddled it looked somehow amateurish and it was hard to find your way around it. Now it looks sharp and catchy, and is easy to read and navigate. Carol is really easy to work with – she listens carefully to what you want and your organization's vision, then she develops the look and feel that represents YOU. Best of all – she talks in a way that us lowly non-technogeeks can understand!"
-- Claire Robson, BOLDFest, Vancouver, BC
"What a welcome relief to get carol's help! And she's always there, for grassroots type of people and organizations. This I know to be true! In addition to giving BOLD's website web design a crisp, bright look, carol also shares her knowledge about how to do things so that we can become AT LEAST a bit more tech savvy! I do appreciate that about carol, as well as her skills and easy manner. I highly recommend carol for individuals, organizations and groups' computer needs. BTW, that's only a few of her many talents!"
-- Pat Hogan, BOLDFest, Vancouver, BC
“Thank you for bringing our Mixing Bowl Cookbook project to a brilliant conclusion. The term “brilliant” is well chosen. Finding just the right photograph from a collection of over 1,000 was a huge task in itself yet each photograph was selected with care and sensitivity to portray the fun and friendship the project fostered and the true beauty of the participants.
When I was showing the first samples to a few committee members, it was difficult to get the book out of their hands – they wanted to keep it. Each section is colour-coded where we find it facilitates searches, the print clear and easy to read – they loved it!
Everyone is delighted with the finished product. This is one Cookbook that will be treasured by each lucky recipient for generations. If you’ve got a big job to do, call carol and ask to see The Mixing Bowl Cookbook of Meals and Memories.”
-- Lorna Gibbs, President, SVSACS
Southeast Vancouver Seniors Arts & Cultural Centre Society

-- Jennifer DeTracey, Action Expert/Marketing-preneur of Lift Strategies.com

"Carol developed an illustration, poster and program cover for a special project presented by our organization. We were thrilled with how well she translated our needs into a design encapsulating our vision so much better than we were able to articulate in our direction to Carol.
She was a pleasure to work with and I will, and have, recommended her expertise to others. Finally, she is the best graphic designer I have ever worked with."
-- Murray Livergant, Director
Hebrew Free Loan Association (HFLA), Vancouver, BC
"We were fortunate to be associated with carol weaver and her many talents. Besides being a wonderful and powerful musician/drummer, carol helped to create and design Theatre In the Raw's website.
After many years of attempting to create a website she was instrumental to our theatre company to at long last have our own comprehensible and informative website. Her choice of colours, web template, and guidance to our staff was essential in the design of our site.
Her generosity, talent, time and effort were of utmost importance, allowing us to enter into the realm of the world wide web with pride and care.
Carol has an impressive background in many fields related to art and grassroots activist work. She puts heart into the community with a genuine quality. Carol is a pleasure to be around and a joy to work with."
-- Jay Hamburger, Artistic Director
Theatre In the Raw Society, Vancouver, BC
"A former colleague was in contact with you a decade ago to design a 10th anniversary t-shirt for the Steelworkers Humanity Fund. In an organization that does many tshirts, that one was always remembered as one of the best ever. I know I've worn both of mine until they had holes! Would you be available/interested in working with us to do a 20th anniversary version?"

"I would like to share my thoughts on the poster created (every woman makes a difference) by carol weaver for International Women's Day (IWD). (This poster was Commissioned by the Ministry of Women's Equality with the BC Government and distributed all over BC for three separate years).
Art that inspires women to collectively share their thoughts and ideas in positive ways, as this piece does, are indications of how progressive the women's movement has become.
Ms. weaver uses wonderful bright, bold colours in her artwork. I like the connection created by the waves as it moves throughout each of the women. This motion shows unity between women but the different colours in each wave also expresses the uniqueness in every woman..."
-- Marie Mangos, Victoria, BC
"In my opinion one of carol's qualities that allows her to be a master at what she does, is her ability to listen. Through the process of hearing me, she was able to help clarify my vision and then, re-create it on a website. Easier said than done. Humour, passion, talent, patience and diligence were all part of the magic mix. I am grateful to have worked with carol during this very personal process. My passion is certainly reflected in her work."
