The 'spirit' rawhide rattle is an ancient + powerful 'clearing' musical instrument that can be used for healing + lots of fun to play.

On our first day we will sew and shape the rattle then, let it dry overnight. On our second day, we will complete the rattle by filling with pebbles, beads, etc., to create your own rattle’s personal sound, then attach the handle + decorate... and then, together, we'll enliven and wake our rattles up! We will also cover some of the history of the rattle + how it can be used as part of your energetic healing practice and/or personally...

what to bring to the workshop...

Most supplies are included... ie., a wood dowel for your handle, rawhide pieces + sinew for lacing... some paints, sharpies, glue, sandpaper, punches, rattle bits to create your own unique sound, etc... tho, please be sure to bring:

your beautiful souls...
a good sharp pair of scissors...
optional: a nice stick for your handle... not too long, anywhere from 8 to 14 inches long and one end at about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide (so it fits into your rawhide rattle head)... your stick can be found on the beach or in the forest... please cut to length before workshop and feel free to clean up the wood prior to have it ready, etc... during the workshop you'll have time to do some sanding + decorating... also know, a wooden dowel cut to length is provided as part of your materials supplied...
anything special you'd like to include inside your rattle to add to it's unique sound... ie, small pebbles, beads, crystal shards (nothing too sharp), bit of plant medicine, etc...
for decorating, anything special you'd like to add onto your rattle; small feather, cloth, fur, etc... the workshop will provide some options...
bring any special acrylic paints or permanent sharpie pens, etc., if you prefer your own materials...
please bring a bagged lunch/etc if you feel you'll need during our time together... some snacks, tea/water will be provided... there is a fridge, microwave and stove in the space... (Vancouver)
Also know you can complete your rattle decorating at home, if needed after the workshop...
